Trebor Tichenor is well known to the ragtime crowd, but (as those of us who know and love him realize) he's about as savvy at the computer as I am at composing folk rags. I decided to start this page as an unofficial "fan" site with information about Trebor's recordings, publications, reviews, etc. and his upcoming performance schedule!
Tempus Ragorum
featuring 24 solo piano performances by Trebor Tichenor
(Stomp Off CD-1282) DDD (digitally recorded) total time:
75:49
This is the first of 3 CD's Trebor has recorded at Richard Riley's PianoMania studio in Roseland, CA. It features 24 outstanding ragtime performances and ended the drought we suffered of no new recordings by Trebor!
Those Southern Blues
featuring 25 solo piano performances by Trebor Tichenor
(PianoMania CD-120) DDD (digitally recorded) total time:
74:18
This is the second of 3 CD's Trebor has recorded at Richard Riley's PianoMania studio in Roseland, CA. As Richard recorded Trebor during the first CD project, he picked up on the laid-back blues Trebor would play when warming up or relaxing after a long day's recording. Richard coaxed Trebor into recording a full CD's worth of material, and this wonderful collection is the result.
Wildflower Rag
featuring 21 solo piano performances by Trebor Tichenor
(PianoMania CD-135) DDD (digitally recorded)
This is latest of the 3 CD's Trebor has recorded at Richard Riley's PianoMania studio in Roseland, CA.
St. Louis Ragtimers - 25th Anniversary and Early Portraits
featuring 20 performances by the St. Louis Ragtimers (Trebor
Tichenor, Al Stricker, Don Franz, Bill Mason, Eric Sager, and
Glenn Meyer)
(Ragophile SLR 0607-CD) AAD (analog recordings)
Tracks 1-12 are from one LP ("25th Anniversary"),
recorded September 6, 1986. Tracks 13-20 are from another LP ("Early
Portraits"), recorded September 29, 1979. I don't know the
availability of this CD. I need to talk to Trebor about it, and
I just haven't gotten around to it.
Trebor also appears on the PianoMania collections "A Ragtime Primer" and "57 Diff'rent Kinds of Blues" -- see the BluesTone CD page for details.
